Two New Characters

I picked up two new characters to lead my Greenskins and Ogres.

Here is a goblin shaman riding on an orc boss. The model is Grumlok and Gazbag, based on a Warhammer Online model.

Here is a metal Ogre Tyrant to lead the combined army of greenskins and ogres.

They are both in progress. I'll update when they are finished.

Chariot Finished

The Boar Chariot has been finished. I may come back to these units later to do a little touch-up, but for now they are good enough!

In a few days, I will take them home with me and introduce them to their Destruction brothers.

Goblins Finished, Chariot Begun

I have finished the 20 goblin spearmen. I may add a banner to the unit at some point, but not right now.

The orc chariot has begun. I'd like to finish it in the next 24 hours, so that they are done before winter vacation starts.

Wolf Riders Finished

The ten goblin wolf riders are now finished.

There is also one lone boar rider.

Next up are twenty goblin spearmen.

Here they are:

And here they are with their arrer-shootin' buddies.

Something Waaagh-ked This Way Comes

I have started painting a small army of Greenskins that I have had sitting around for a while. They will complement my Ogors as part of a large Destruction army.

In total, there will be an Orc Boss, 18 warriors, 16 archers, Boar Chariot, 20 Goblin Spearmen, and 10 Goblin Wolf Riders.

Kairic Acolytes, Archimaine Finished

Here, at last, are the remaining Kairic Acolytes. I started to deal with some model fatigue trying to finish these guys. I don't remember how I used to do 60 skeletons or 40 Empire Infantry...

Here is Archimaine, as well. All of the Warhammer Quest Heroes are now finished.

Lord Castellant

I knocked out a few more of the Kairic Acolytes, but then decided to paint up this guy before finishing them off:

There are six more acolytes to go and then Archimaine the Gryph-hound. Then all of the Warhammer Quest Models are done.

Exalted Hero of Tzeentch

The more I painted my Kairic Acolytes from Silver Tower, the more I started to think that this old Dark Eldar Archon I had lying around looked like them. So I decided to paint him up as an exalted Hero of Tzeentch. Here is how he turned out.

And here he is leading a group of Acolytes.

More Age of Sigmar Terrain

This was a particularly productive week. (Having an extra day off didn't hurt!)

I managed to finish up several terrain pieces for Age of Sigmar. First is the Ophidian Archway:

Next is the Numinous Occulum:

And here is the Baleful Realmgate:

In additions, I did some touch-ups on a few older pieces to make them fit in better. Namely, I did the same gold trim on the Arcane Ruins and Magewrath Throne:

Current Projects

Sadly, when I flew back home after the summer break I managed to forget my minis case... This means that none of the Star Wars Legion models came with me.

So for now I am still just focusing on Warhammer stuff. I recently finished up some Tzaangors for Silver Tower. The only model left now is the Tenebrael Shard. Once that is done, I move on to Hammerhal. These guys were heavy on detail, so I think it's time to work on terrain for a bit to get some variety.

Star Wars: the New Legion

I decided to get into Star Wars legion, both because the game itself looks like a lot of fun and has been very well reviewed and because the models will also be great for playing the RPG.

I have started assembling the models, and I wanted to compare them with some of my older Wizard of the Coast metal figures from the early 2000s. Here are some pictures of the size comparisons.

Here is Luke Skywalker compared to an older Cerean jedi. The size is close, although the Legion modles are slightly larger. The bases for the Legion models are also a little bit taller than the WOTC ones.

Here is a young wookiee in with a squad of soldiers. Once again, he is a bit small, but still close.

Finally, here is Luke with a random R2D2 model that I picked up and based. Seems like a pretty good fit.

Campaign Game 6: The Vampire's Dungeon

We played the final game in our Warhammer Quest-style vampire campaign.

The heroes entered the dungeon. They descended to the throne room and battled ghouls there.

Reinforcements from the storage room and torture chamber joined the fight.

The elf decided to split off on his own.

The heroes reached the vampire's crypt.

The gargoyles animated and defended the vampire.

Finally the heroes defeated the gargoyles and staked the vampire.

Campaign Game 5: Castle of the Vampire

We played the next game in the campaign today. The heroes tracked the vampire to his lair. The undead creature was protected by his army of skeletons and a wight king as well as a horde of rats.

The Paladin and Dwarf Lord broke off to take on the wight and some skellies, while one of the Slayers dove into the rat swarms.

The vampire attacked the other heroes. It was a bloody fight, but they defeated him. However, he turned to mist a drifted back into the castle.

With the vampire gone, the Slayers could double-team the rats.

In the end, the heroes know the only way to defeat the Vampire for good would be to go into the castle and find his tomb.

Darkoath Chieftain

I finished another Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower model recently. This one is the Darkoath Chieftain. Here's hoping we get to try him out in combat soon. Now the only models left to be painted from the game are the Tenebrael Shard and 6 Tzaangors.

Mistweaver Saih

I finished painting up the Mistweaver for Warhammer Quest Silver Tower. I really like this model--dynamic, yet mysterious.

Campaign Game 4: The Watchtower

We played the next game in the Warhammer Quest campaign today. The heroes were tasked with taking out a watch tower guarded by the undead. Here they are getting ready to attack.

A strigoi ghoul king emerges atop the tower.

He descendeds to attack his mortal enemy, the warrior priest. Meanwhile the slayers are locked in combat with zombies.

After dispatching the zombies, the slayers find the necromancer.

After a hard-fought battle, the day is won.

Campaign Game 3: Garden of the Spirits

We played the next game in the campaign yesterday. The heroes entered a haunted graveyard in search of another artifact to help in their quest.

Here is the setup at the beginning of the game:

Here are the heroes about to enter the graveyard:

Here they are under attack by spirit hosts, wraiths, and banshees:
